Crestchic, a global leader in load bank manufacturing, is set to showcase a new solution at this year’s Data Centre World Singapore —the 200kW load bank, specifically designed for the rapidly growing data centre sector.
The highly anticipated event, scheduled for 9-10 October 2024 at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, attracts leading companies and professionals in the data centre industry, with Crestchic poised to stand out with its new offering tailored to meet the unique needs of data centre operators.
The new 200kW load bank from Crestchic is designed to address the increasingly complex energy demands of modern data centres. As data centres continue to expand in size and complexity, driven by the exponential growth of cloud computing, AI, and the IoT, maintaining optimal performance and uptime is more critical than ever.
Load banks are essential tools for data centre operators, allowing them to test their electrical systems, backup power solutions, and cooling infrastructures under simulated loads to ensure they can handle real-world demand without failure. At just 1159mm x 876mm x 983mm the load bank has a small enough footprint for operators to link multiple machines and strategically place them at intervals around the hall. Multiple load banks can be configured and controlled using just one handheld digital controller, enabling operators to use up to 20 linked load banks (4MW) to verify that the cooling installation is operating to specification in the server hall and within safe parameters.
In addition to heat load testing, the units are invariably connected to Power Distribution Units (PDUs), facilitating testing of the data centre’s electrical infrastructure, including power to servers, switches, bus track power units, feed tracks, tap offs, and other devices.
Adrian Yap, Director of Crestchic APAC, spoke about the company’s latest innovation and its significance for the industry: “The data centre industry is undergoing unprecedented growth, particularly in the APAC region, where demand for data storage and processing is skyrocketing. Our new 200kW load bank has been specifically designed to support this growth by providing a flexible, reliable, and scalable solution for load testing. The units have one of the lowest Delta T rises on the market at below 100°C (at the exhaust face), helping to ensure a more accurate simulation of real-world conditions. Noise levels are lowest in class at 83dBA at 1m, an important consideration when operating inside. We understand the unique challenges data centre operators face, and we’ve engineered this product to meet those needs head-on.”
Over the last 40 years, Crestchic has built a solid reputation as a leader in the design and manufacture of load banks, offering a wide range of solutions for industries including oil and gas, maritime, and critical power infrastructure. The introduction of the 200kW load bank demonstrates the company’s commitment to delivering products that meet the needs of customers.
Crestchic’s participation at Data Centre World Singapore 2024 highlights its ongoing commitment to the region’s booming data centre sector. As one of the most prestigious events in the industry, Data Centre World brings together leaders from across the globe, offering a platform for Crestchic to engage with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Visitors to Crestchic’s booth will have the opportunity to see the 200kW load bank, as well as to talk with technical experts from the company to learn more about how load banks can be used to maximise uptime in data centre operations.
